Thank you for your interest in our working cats program. By completing this questionnaire, we will have the appropriate information to match you with your new pair of Barn Buddies!
We take in a large number of unsocialized cats that are trapped by residents of Stanly County, and unable to return to their original living situation due to various reasons. These cats are used to living outdoors, and they are not a candidate for our general adoption program. These cats do not do well in the shelter setting, and are in need of a quick outlet. Unsocialized cats are usually the first to be euthanized in open intake shelters due to lack of space and appropriate homes. We at Stanly County Animal Protective Services are doing our best to break the norm!
Your new Barn Buddies need to be contained in a tack room, shed, garage, shop or barn for a 2-4 week acclimation period. This is to ensure that the cats become familiar with their new living environment, and will make them less likely to run off once released.
Barn Buddies are typically not social with humans initially, but they are known to often bond with their care takers. Please complete the questionnaire below, so that we can match you with the most appropriate cats for the job you are seeking to fill!
