A Multipartisan Assistance Team, or “MAT,” is a group that has been appointed by the County Board of Elections to provide assistance with mail-in absentee voting to voters living at facilities such as nursing homes.

At the request of the voter, the MAT members will travel to the facility assisting the voter with:

  • registering to vote

  • requesting a ballot

  • or completing the ballot

The team members assisting the voter are of both parties to ensure that the voter receives impartial, professional assistance. Their job is to help them vote, but their voting choices will remain confidential.

All MAT Members will be required to:

  • attend a 2-3 hour training session in person
  • have transportation to and from the facility
  • excessive walking & standing (depending on the amount of assistance needed at the facility)
  • be available during the majority of the by-mail voting period (60 days before election day)

Are you able to fulfill the requirements listed above?

What days of the week would you be available?

Would you be available to assist with Absentee Board meetings on a weekly basis once voting begins?
