Adoption Application

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Stanly County Animal Protective Services! We are the managed admission municipal shelter that serves all of Stanly County. We receive most of our animals as strays and owner surrenders from residents that are no longer able to care for their pets.

All of our available animals can be viewed in the album "animals available for adoption" on our Facebook page, as well as our Petfinder account. Our adoption fee is $100 per pet, and all of our available animals have already been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have received age appropriate vaccinations, deworming and preventatives. All of our cats have been tested for feline leukemia and immunodefficiency virus, and our dogs are negative for heartworm disease.

The majority of our animals are housed in a shelter enviroment, so we are unable to fully assess if the dogs are crate trained, house trained or good with cats or kids. We highly encourage for the entire family to come by to meet the animals to ensure that it is a good fit.

Please note that we do not deliver animals, or transport out of state. You must be willing to come to the shelter to complete the adoption process.

Please note that sending a follow up email immediately after submitting your application will not bump up your place in line. Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. If there are multiple applications for the same pet, then we will review applications starting with the one that appears to be the best fit.
